A Giant, Still Edible Chunk of 2,000 Year Old Butter Was Found in a Peat Bog
A 22-pound chunk of butter was found in an Irish bog. It is estimated to be around 2,000 years old. Bog butter is a thing, according to Atlas Obscura. Before butter was preserved with added salt, people would bury it in a peat bog to preserve it. This is speculated to be one of the earliest examples and it is STILL EDIBLE.
